We’re pleased to bring you the premiere of Plax’s new song “Boring Story” (listen below). The track is taken from the band’s forthcoming full-length album Clean Feeling, which is scheduled to be released through Super Secret Records on August 11th.

“Boring Story” features some of the most aesthetically pleasing and deliberate lo-fi production, evoking the urgency of proto-punk bands like The Pagans, Rocket From the Tombs, The Mad, et al, but with a 21st Century frame of mind.

Plax is Victor (Skeleton; Nosferatu), Marley (OBNIII’s; Sweet Talk), Chris (Spray Paint; Dikes of Holland; When Dinosaurs Ruled the Earth) and Michael (OBNIII’s; eetsFEATS). Recorded by Ian Rundell in Austin, TX.

In the summer of 2016 Michael Goodwin approached his longtime friend Chris “Anton” Stevenson and current band-mate in OBN III’s Marley Jones — the subject: starting a new outsider punk band that defies all conventional expectations. The three quickly wrote 9 songs for a demo, but were still in need of a vocalist. At the time, Marley was playing drums in the ever-evolving Skeleton, formed and fronted by the Ziolkowski brothers, David and Victor. Michael and Anton approached Victor and solidified the Plax lineup with Victor on vocals. Their first show was July 28th, 2016 at Ikee’s house with New Orleans Total Punk ragers, Patsy.  From here they went on to play with top tier Texas bands Crooked Bangs, Institute and Army. Their sound; an evolving whirlwind of Wire influenced post-punk to the straight pogo-punk of Dawn of Humans. They toured Texas in January of 2017 and in March of 2017 Anton relocated to Melbourne and now, being a global sensation, Plax continues to write and record songs with their original four.
