Austin-based “slowcore” group Knife In The Water first formed in 1997. The first three albums received immense critical acclaim and earned them a close following. The second album, 2000’s “Red River”, even went as far as being crowned #14 on SPIN’s top 20 albums of 2000. For as suddenly as the band came into existence, so too did it quickly retreat in 2006. After ten years apart, singer Aaron Blount and pedal steel guitarist Bill McCullough reunited to track some new songs – ultimately releasing “Reproduction” on Austin label Keeled Scales right before SXSW in March 2017. Almost simultaneously, Sonic Surgery Records issued the band’s debut album, “Plays One Sound and Others”, on vinyl for the first time in February 2017. Following the release of their fourth studio album, Knife In The Water briefly toured the Midwest during June 2017.
